Fountain Valley Scales Back Water Restrictions

Even though many permanent water restrictions remain in place, residents are no longer limited to specific days to do their watering. The easing of restrictions is the product of Governor Brown’s executive order declaring an end to the drought.

Fountain Valley leaves in place the water saving requirements that have been in place since 2009. Those include no outdoor watering between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., limiting watering to 15 minutes, not allowing outdoor water runoff or washing down hard or paved surfaces and fixing leaks within three days of notice.

The city also prohibits outdoor watering less than 48 hours after rainfall. There is also no watering of turf by the city on public street medians in compliance with state rules.  Continue Reading
